Arm Pain

Readjust with Salt & Spine Chiropractic

When arm pain first manifests, most people begin to rest, ice, and take pain relievers as needed. For some, that's all that's needed. For chronic or extreme pain, these remedies do little to mask the symptoms, and do not even touch the root cause. Chiropractic care focuses on restoring function and treating any underlying mechanical misalignments contributing to your pain.

Shoulder Pain

The shoulder is a ball and socket joint that is supported by ligaments, muscles, and tendons. It is the most flexible - also the most insecure - joint in the body. Pain can result from a variety of sources:

Rotator Cuff Pain

The rotator cuff is a group of muscles responsible for stabilizing the shoulder joint. Overuse, trauma, or degenerative changes can result in inflammation, strain, or tears in the rotator cuff. The pain can manifest as a dull ache that worsens when reaching the arm overhead or behind the back. If you experience immediate arm weakness after an injury, seek care immediately.

Care by our board-certified chiropractic physicians can aid in recovery, restore range of motion, and reduce pain.

Frozen Shoulder

Frozen Shoulder Syndrome can present both as a result of trauma to the shoulder joint and idiopathically. Regardless of the cause of onset, symptoms are painful and restrictive in both active and passive motion. Pain can present at various points of the day, and is often provoked with simply moving your arm or trying to perform your normal activities of the day.

Chiropractic care has demonstrated remarkable efficacy in resolving or improving Frozen Shoulder Syndrome. Contact our board-certified chiropractic physicians for help in restoring use of your shoulder.

Impingement and Bursitis

Shoulder impingement occurs when tendons in your shoulder become pinched by the surrounding bone or soft tissues. Repetitive motion with poor biomechanics can lead to this condition. Symptoms vary by patient, but some of the most common symptoms that you may experience include pain in the front, top or back of the shoulder, a “dead arm” feeling, weakness, popping/clicking. Pain in the front of the shoulder could mean bursitis. It often accompanies shoulder impingement. Bursitis is the compression and inflammation of the bursa (a fluid-filled sac that acts as a cushion) in the shoulder that causes pain and reduced range of motion.

Elbow Pain

Golfer's and Tennis Elbow are two common types of elbow pain affecting opposite sides of the joint. Both conditions are due to overuse of tendons in the forearm and resulting tendonitis.

Golfer's Elbow affects the inner part of the elbow and causes pain with wrist flexion, a hallmark of a golf swing. Tennis Elbow, however affects the outer part of the elbow. Pain can afflict anyone who engages in repeated wrist extension, like tennis players, carpenters, and painters.

Chiropractic care can help normalize elbow function through joint adjustment and soft tissue therapies. Get in contact with our board-certified chiropractic physicians today!

Wrist/Hand Pain

Pain in the wrist is often associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), a common condition affecting 3-6% of US adults. The median nerve runs down the forearm and into the hand through the tissues surrounding the carpal bones in the wrist. CTS occurs when the median nerve is compressed by tissues in the wrist.

Symptoms include:

If left untreated, pain can worsen and become debilitating. Care by our board-certified chiropractors can stop progression, alleviate tension, stress and nerve compression.
